Syncope is a transient loss of consciousness followed by recovery resulting from decreased blood supply to the brain. A syncope episode can result from altered function of nerves supplying the heart and blood vessels, inability of body to maintain blood pressure or disturbances of the heart.
A syncope episode is usually preceded by pre-syncope where patients might experience giddiness, sweating, palpitations, light headedness, blurring of vision or decreased hearing.
We are the first private center in India and South Asia with a dedicated Syncope Laboratory. The advanced protocols and testing facilities available at our center can not only differentiate syncope from other causes of transient loss of consciousness but also help in detecting the underlying mechanism of syncope and determine its severity. Depending on the underlying cause patients might require admission to a hospital, treatment with medicines or rehabilitation exercises or just a simple reassurance.Â
